FIND FREEDOM

Become Your Best Self

The struggle is where the transformation happens.

Our approach to therapy is inspired by the spectacular process a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly, which we also chose to integrate into our chrysalis-shaped branding. When the caterpillar is ready, it builds a chrysalis around itself, then its body essentially breaks down in order to reform and take the shape of a butterfly. You cannot cut a butterfly out of its chrysalis. It must do the work to set itself free. The struggle to break free is part of the process of becoming a butterfly.

In the same way, we’re inspired by our clients who commit to the process of self-work – to their healing. We’ve seen over and over again with the hundreds of clients we’ve helped that the struggle is the growth. No one can do the work for you, but you have what it takes within you to break free and become the best version of you.

Meet the Team

Naomi Cooper Martin, LMFT

I help adolescents and adults of all ages process and work through the difficulties of life. Whether you’ve experienced trauma, are processing grief, or want support to improve your overall well-being, I’m here for you. I gently hold space for my clients, while also being honest and direct with them.

In addition to narrative (talk) therapy, I’m professionally trained in using EMDR and neurofeedback therapies, which can be incredibly impactful in helping people heal from traumatic experiences. I frequently help military members and their families, couples, domestic violence victims and offenders, and people dealing with trauma. My passion is helping people identify the problem thoughts, behaviors, and past situations that are holding them back so they can make changes and live with greater peace.

I’m the founder of Trauma & Relationship Counseling, and I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) who has been counseling for over twenty years. I graduated from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio with a B.A. in Social Work, and I received my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary in San Diego, CA. I am licensed in California, Texas, and Nevada.

I help children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples navigate challenging transitions in life so they can thrive. My goal is to make room for safe, empathetic, and curious conversation so my clients can share their experiences authentically – giving them the opportunity for growth and healing.

I most often help couples, emotionally struggling children and teens, families, domestic violence victims, and people processing trauma. I’m an EMDR specialist, and I also have experience in somatic therapy, CBT, and Bowen Theory. I am also trained in the Gottman Theory for couples therapy. I believe therapy is a collaborative commitment, and the work my clients do to improve their lives is honorable and awe-inspiring.

I am an associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT). I graduated from the University of Phoenix with my B.A. in Business Management, and I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Northcentral University in San Diego, California.
